Cupcakes for Conservation benefits endangered Pangolin and California Condor
EUREKA - A local fundraiser is providing sweet treats for your Valentine this year with proceeds going towards conservation projects.
The Redwood Coast Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers is taking orders for it's annual Cupcakes for Conservation. The Chapter chose two conservation projects that support the endangered Pangolin and the California Condor and 100% of purchase proceeds will be donated to the IUCN Pangolin Specialist Group and the Ventana Wildlife Society.
The animal themed cupcake of your choice will also come with a keepsake photo and information about the conservation project.
"Well our goal is to help spread light about these species, some people have never even heard of the pangolin and have no idea what it is, and it's a species that is in dire need of our help, and so, our goal is to bring light and education to these different species that we have selected this year and also just get the word out about them. So with each cupcake they will get that special conservation message and hopefully spread the word about it," said Redwood Coast Chapter President, Janée Zakoren.
The chapter has extended the deadline to Thursday and orders can be placed at the Sequoia Park Zoo or at www.redwoodcoastaazk.org
