DEA cracks down on meth and heroin in Humboldt County
HOOPA- Thirteen were taken into custody Thursday in connection with drug trafficking operations in Humboldt County.
The Federal Drug Enforcement Administration teamed up with the County Drug Task Force, Eureka Police Department's POP team and the U.S. Marshall's Office to serve federal indictments and state arrest warrants on properties in Eureka and Hoopa.
According to the sheriff's office, some locations served included a travel trailer behind Hoopa's Burger Barn, another on the 300 block of Highway 96, and one on Bald Hills Road.
In Eureka, a warrant was served on the 1500 block of Wood Street. In total eight individuals were arrested in Hoopa, five others in Eureka.
Thursday's raids focused on methamphetamine and heroin operations. They result from a year and a half federal investigation into drug trafficking in Humboldt County.
