Decade of Difference is all about employment in Humboldt County
EUREKA – Young people in Humboldt County are getting a helping hand with the Decade of Difference Initiative.
The ten year community program is designed to help our youth on the North Coast to be more productive and contributing members of our society. Twenty years ago there were good paying jobs for those who weren’t necessarily successful in school or who dropped out. That has all changed.
Officials say the Decade of Difference is not just an educational program for K through 12 students, it’s much broader. It really is collaboration between business, industry and policy makers. Employers in Humboldt County desperately need a skilled pool of available prospective employees.
That is good news for those seeking employment on the North Coast. Training is available and so is financial aid. For more information, visit: www.decadeofdifference.org
