Deputies: Possible sighting of triple homicide suspect, Shane Miller, false alarm
NORTH STATE- The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office confirms with News Channel 3 that the possible sighting of triple-homicide suspect Shane Miller in the Fort Jones area turned out to be a different man.
Miller is wanted for allegedly killing his wife and two young daughters in their Shingletown home in May before fleeing to the North Coast. The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office said they believe the man who matched the description of the person seen in the Fort Jones area was the same man they found in Trinity County and was not Shane Miller.
According to authorities, prior to the May slayings Miller made threats to kill his wife, daughters, mother-in-law, sister-in-law and her children. He is a convicted felon who has convictions for weapon and drug offenses. He is also known to be an avid outdoorsman with survival skills. There is still an active warrant for his arrest and in July was added to the U.S. Marshals top 15 Most Wanted fugitive list. He was last seen in the Mattole Valley along the North Coast. Anyone with information is encouraged to call police.
