Deputy battling aggressive brain cancer
HUMBOLDT COUNTY- Corporal Rich Schlesiger with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office has been serving the community for over 20 years. He is a Humboldt County native and proud father of three children Chaz, Cade, and Callee. But recently, he and his family found out some shocking news. After years of fighting crime, Corporal Schlesiger is now fighting a different battle.
In mid-January of this year, Rich experienced severe headaches over the course of several days. When the pain didn’t subside, his wife Morgan took him to the emergency room where a scan was conducted and a brain tumor discovered.
To help Rich and his family, the community is rallying together to build the “Schlesiger Fight Club.” A dinner and auction to benefit the family will be held on Aril 6th at the Bear River Casino Community Center. Monetary donations can also be made out to the “Schlesiger Family Fund.”
