Dinner on Wednesday in Fortuna designed to bring community together
FORTUNA- For the first time this year, the non-profit organization River Life Foundation is holding its Community Outreach Dinner.
River Life Foundation serves the Eel River Valley in many ways, including cleaning the River Bar and handing out food every Saturday. Wednesday, through a partnership with the Fortuna United Methodist Church, the organization will hold their first Community Outreach Dinner of the year. Everyone is welcome, and kids eat free. Adults will have to pay a five dollar donation to join in on the gulash dinner.
"We do this to bring the community together. So neighborhoods get together and people get to know each other a little bit better. To sit down and have a meal and a little conversation and a little fellowship, it just seems to make a huge difference in the community," said Sean Swanson, the Founder of River Life Foundation.
Community Outreach Dinners will be held at the Fortuna United Methodist Church on the third Wednesday of every month. The address of the church is 922 N Street in Fortuna. The dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 362-9384.
