DNSO: Man flees law enforcement while leaving a trail of drugs
DEL NORTE COUNTY- A Crescent City man is arrested after running from law enforcement, all while leaving a trail of metamphetamine, that’s according to a Del Norte County Sheriff’s Deputy.
Leon Tuttle, 49 years old, was at a residence on Murphy Avenue on Tuesday, when the sheriff’s office got a call of reported drug activity at a home with kids inside. A deputy went to the house and was offered a tour by, 41-year-old Theresa Gokey.
When the deputy entered a bedroom, Tuttle was seen lying on the bed with a bag of suspected meth on the nightstand. When the deputy attempted to grab what is believed to be about eight to ten grams of meth, Tuttle allegedly pushed the deputy and ran outside. According to the deputy, Tuttle was tearing the bag open while he was running. He was later caught and arrested.
Tuttle is facing a number of charges, some include, Child Endangerment and Battery on a Peace Officer. As for Gokey, she was also taken into custody for Child Endangerment.
The kids inside the home were taken by Child Protective Services.
