Down to three candidates for CR's next president
EUREKA - College of the Redwoods has narrowed down its selections to three finalists in the hunt for CR’s next president. Current president, Kathy Smith announced her desire to retire this past September. Her final day will be June 30th.
The first candidate to interview with the board of trustees will be Debra Thatcher Monday, March 9. She is the current acting president at Suny Cobleskill College of Agriculture and Technology in New York. Tuesday, Yulian Ligioso, sits before the trustees. Ligioso is Vice President of Finance and Administration at Solano College in Fairfield, California. Wednesday, David Smith from Rangely, Colorado will interview. Since 2008, he has served as Vice President of instruction and Student Affairs.
CR officials say with Kathy Smith’s retirement in June, their goal is to have one of these candidates hired and starting their first day July 1.
