Driver shot by Humboldt Sheriff's Deputy is jailed
YUROK INDIAN RESERVATION - Deputies have been placed on administrative leave following a shooting Friday night, leaving one suspect behind bars.
Patrolling around 10 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff Deputies came across a suspicious vehicle at Martins Ferry Bridge on the Yurok Indian Reservation. Deputies making contact with driver George Robbins of Yurok resulted in an officer-involved shooting.
Robbins was removed from the vehicle and cleared a medical check.
A firearm was found concealed in the vehicle and was collected as evidence. Robbins was transported to the Humboldt County Jail.
No deputy was harmed. All deputies involved were placed on procedural administrative leave and the incident is now under investigation.
