CRESCENT CITY- A alleged drunk driver led deputies on a high-speed chase early Wednesday morning. According to the Del Norte County Sheriff’s office, the driver, 39-year-old Eugene Colgrove III led deputies on a six-mile chase with speeds reaching 120 miles per hour around 1:30 a.m.
The pursuit kicked off near National Boulevard and Elk Valley Road, and ended after law enforcement deployed spike strips. It was then that Colgrove pulled over and was taken into custody. Some of the charges he is facing include evading police, reckless driving, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
