RIO DELL - It's not something you hear about too often, a school principal getting duct taped to a wall by their students. However, that's what happened in Rio Dell Thursday, but it was all for a good cause.
Rio Dell's Eagle Prairie Elementary raised money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s “Pennies for Patients” by taping their principal to the gym wall. Each strip of duct tape was one dollar and students had the opportunity to "Stick it to Mr. McComas". The school is on it's third week of fundraising and has already raised over $2,000.
"Like stuck," said Blayne, and “Happy” said Brooks, Eagle Prairie students, in regards to how their principal was feeling.
Eagle Prairie Principal, Jorey McComas says "I thought it was the least I could do and this has brought in almost $400 worth of duct tape. You know, you should give yourself a big hand."
Students clapped in excitement.
"So being stuck to the wall was worth it to me to raise money and show them that I care about this fundraiser and about the effort they've given," said McComas
