Eight members of Eureka Volunteer Patrol honored at city council meeting
EUREKA- Eight members of the Eureka Volunteer Patrol were awarded the Eureka Police Department’s Valor-Service Challenge Coin Award at Tuesday night’s city council meeting.
Police Chief Andrew Mills and the EVP Commander, Acting Captain Len Johnson, gave each of the eight members a coin and a letter of appreciation for their dedicated service to Eureka. These eight members have volunteered more than 30,000 hours to the City of Eureka as a group.
The eight recipients of the award are Bob Gish, Jack Hopkins, Terry Long, Roger Miller, Gary Swanson, Dick Storre, Pete Vallerga and Gil Long. Tuesday night was the fourth time the EPD’s Valor-Service Challenge Coin Award was given out.
