EPD: ‘Investigation is progressing’ in 15th Street homicide
EUREKA- The investigation continues into the death of a 14-year old Arcata boy found unconscious on 15th Street in Eureka on Wednesday.
According to the police department, the investigation is progressing, but officials said due to the sensitivity of the case, they would not release any further details. The boy was found laying in a yard with visible wounds to his torso Wednesday morning. He was transported to St. Joseph Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Detectives say the boy had prior contact with law enforcement before his death and are following up accordingly. Investigators are looking at this case as a homicide. An autopsy, to determine cause of death, is scheduled for Saturday.
