EPD appoints new officer to patrol Old Town Eureka

EUREKA - A new officer will be patrolling the streets of Old Town Eureka beginning in January.

The Eureka Police Department appointed Louis Altic to replace John “Drake” Goodale who has been the beat patrol officer in the area since 2011. Goodale will move on to another assignment.

Officer Altic brings 12 years of experience to the position having worked with EPD as a patrolman, evidence technician, defensive tactics instructor and school resource officer.

He views Eureka’s old town as a remarkable place with amazing potential to attract visitors and provide enjoyment. Officer Altic looks forward to his new assignment. His first day will be January 7.
