EPD awarded mini grant to curb alcohol abuse and crime
EUREKA – The Eureka Police Department has received a substantial grant to help combat underage drinking.
The 11,200-dollar grant was made possible by the California Alcoholic Beverage Control or ABC. It’s part of a minor decoy shoulder tap program funded by the Office of Traffic Safety.
EPD is one of 23 cities or municipalities who received the mini grant. The goal of the program is to reduce alcohol consumption by minors as well as alcohol related crime through multi law enforcement and educational programs.
