EUREKA- The Eureka Police Department is working to make the agency more approachable, and on Tuesday, the Captains invited the community to join them once again for a cup of coffee.
Tuesday was the EPD’s second Coffee with a Captain, where both Police Captains talked one-on-one with community members at Old Town Coffee and Chocolates. The discussion mostly focused on drug use, rental homes that cause disturbances and parking problems. Officials say they plan to hold the event multiple times per year to reach out to the community. Eureka residents say they enjoyed the opportunity to speak with the Captains.
"I think it's a neat thing just to get to know them, to know who they are and in turn, they know who we are," said Sandra Lingle, who is a Eureka resident.
"I feel that I got a lot of good information and I hope to, that we're going to see some results from this," said Mary Cunningham, who lives in Eureka.
