EPD sting operation nabs Trinidad man for buying alcohol for minor
EUREKA - Eureka Police arrested a Trinidad man after a “shoulder tap operation” to combat underage drinking.
Arrested and released was 41-year old Shanon Dennis Korb. This past Saturday, a minor working with EPD, targeted several retail liquor and convenience stores. The minor indicated in some way he or she was underage and could not purchase the alcohol. Korb agreed to do it and will receive a minimum penalty of a $1,000 fine and 24-hours of community service.
The program is intended to reduce the availability of alcohol to minors.
Statistics show youth who engage in consumption of alcoholic beverages are much more likely to drink and drive and engage in criminal conduct.
The decoy operation was funded by Alcohol and Beverage Control and the California Department of Transportation.
