Eureka City Council preview for Tuesday, August 19th
EUREKA- A more than $6 million lawsuit against the City of Eureka will be the topic of discussion during the city council’s closed session on Tuesday.
The council rejected the company’s claim in May, after representatives stated they stopped working on a phase of the Martin Slough Interceptor Project because soil conditions differed from what city officials had told them to expect.
During Tuesday’s open session, the council will vote on approving grant and loan agreements between the city and the Northern California Indian Development Council. The proposed agreements are for a state grant to make updates to the Carson Block Building in Old Town. If the council approves the agreements, the state will then have to enter into an agreement with the city before the grant can be accessed.
