EUREKA- Eureka City Schools and the Eureka Teachers Association have reached a tentative agreement for teacher compensation through the 2014/2015 school year.
Teacher compensation negotiations began in the beginning of 2013. The tentative agreement reached yesterday mandates a 3 percent raise to teachers’ salaries retroactively for the 2013/2014 school year, and an additional 3 percent raise during the next school year, which could be extended. It also adds $80 of medical benefits for teachers effective October of 2014 through September of 2015. In addition, salary increases for teachers with 24 and 27 years of service will be added. The Eureka Teachers Association will have the chance to ratify the agreement in the coming weeks to submit to the Board for ratification on April 3rd in order for the agreement to be put into place.
