Eureka council adopts state water shortage emergency provisions
EUREKA- At Tuesday night’s Eureka city council meeting, the council unanimously approved adopting the state’s water shortage emergency provisions.
The regulations are now being imposed within Eureka City Limits. The regulations mandate that people cannot water their sidewalks or driveways, people watering their lawns must avoid runoff, people can only wash their cars with hoses with shut-off valves and fountains can’t be turned on unless they recycle water. City officials say people in violation of these regulations will be educated on proper practices, but $500 fines will be imposed for each day additional violations occur.
