Eureka man arrested after allegedly fleeing from EPD on bicycle
EUREKA- A Eureka man was arrested after he allegedly led police on a vehicle pursuit, on a bicycle.
On Sunday at around 11:20 a.m., the Eureka Police responded to a suspicious persons report on the 900 block of G Street. Officers observed a man on a bike run a stop sign at the intersection of 9th Street and G Street, and attempted to stop him. Police say the man fled, was hit by a vehicle and was ejected from his bike. Officers arrested 22-year-old Anthony Manuel Burgess in the adjacent parking lot. He was allegedly carrying a loaded .357 revolver and a stun gun, and was charged with resisting arrest, being a felon in possession of a concealed and loaded firearm, and fleeing the scene of an accident, among other charges. Police say Burgess was out on bail at the time. His current bail has been raised to $250,000.
