HUMBOLDT COUNTY- The Eureka Police Department is training business owners and their employees to be compliant with alcohol licenses in Humboldt County. The department hosted a training seminar presented by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
The training educated attendants on the laws and regulations on selling alcohol. The seminar was funded by a $68,000 grant by the state. The city received the funding after having large amounts of DUI's and Public Intoxication Arrests.
Corrie Watson, a Eureka Police Officer, said the department has seen an increase in compliance by businesses. "It seems like we don't have as many rowdy establishments and people are paying attention," said Watson.
