A 50-year-old Eureka woman is in the hospital tonight after crashing her motorcycle into a truck in Eureka this afternoon.
Eureka police said Joanna Leppek making a right turn out of the Walgreens parking lot onto Harrison Avenue when she lost control for unknown reason and drove into the Toyota pick-up. The driver of the pick-up, 47-year-old Robin Zagone of Arcata told police he was heading southbound on Harrison and tried pulling over to the side so she wouldn’t run into him.
Leppek suffered lacerations to her face and was transported to Saint Joseph Hospital. Zagone was uninjured. The crash is under investigation.
