Fatal crash on Highway 101 in Del Norte County
UPDATE: The California Highway Patrol has identified the fatal crash victim has 80 year old George Bradshaw of Harbor, Oregon.
As of 2:20 p.m. Friday afternoon, Highway 101 is now open to one-way controlled traffic. The accident was a head-on collision between a motor home and pick-up truck. One person has been confirmed dead, another was transported to an area hospital. The California Highway Patrol is in the process of notifying next of kin.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The CHP says drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
DEL NORTE COUNTY- The California Highway Patrol Crescent City Office says one person is dead after a vehicle crash on Highway 101 near the Oregon border. As of 1:00 p.m. Friday, officers are still on scene. According to the Del Norte County Sheriff's Office both lanes of traffic remain closed.
