The building was shut down for three hours after the substance was found leaving five employees inside after 12 p.m. Thursday. The Fortuna Volunteer Fire Department and a hazmat crew responded to the scene and determined that the substance was not hazardous.
The FBI is investigating the case with the department. It has not been determined if the Humboldt County District Attorney's Office or the FBI will continue with the case.
