FERNDALE- The Ferndale VFW Honor Wall bears the names of more than 300 veterans, and now the post is looking to add more.
The Honor Wall at the Kenneth Rasmussen Post 6353 was unveiled last Veterans’ day. VFW members say people have shown interest in adding names to the wall since it first went up. Now, the post is planning to build two additional walls. Members of the VFW say construction can begin once 90 more people order the laser-engraved bricks. They say any veteran who served honorably is welcome to be on the wall.
"This wall honors anyone who has honorably served in any capacity in the military. You don't have to go to war because we never know at what point we may get called out to serve in any capacity. You may be a cook, you may be a mechanic, you may be admin, but when it hits the fan, you're out there pulling the trigger when needed," said Randall Cady, a member of the VFW 6363 and a 30-year veteran of the U.S. Army and National Guard.
If you are interested in ordering a brick, call Spencer Koch with the Ferndale VFW at (707) 498-8804.
