Final preparations being made for Humboldt County Fair
FERNDALE- Final preparations are being made for the 118th annual Humboldt County Fair in Ferndale, which is the biggest event in Humboldt County.
Rides, vendors, horse racing and a livestock auction will be some of the attractions at the fair, which organizers say takes an entire year to prepare for. One of the new additions this year is the sea lion exhibit, where the audience will have the chance to interact with the animals. On Thursday, for the Opening Ceremony, Supervisor Rex Bohn will ride a camel for the parade, which starts at 10:45 a.m. Organizers say there is something for everyone at the fair.
"It's a great opportunity to come out and see some of the unique things from Humboldt in addition to the new attractions and new entertainment we bring out. We try to vary the music and different entertainment annually, and I think we did a good job this year. We've got a good lineup," said Richard Conway, the General Manager fo the Humboldt County Fair Association.
