A small fire breaks out Monday night in an alley near Harris and California Street in Eureka. Firefighters at the scene said the first calls they got reported a large blaze… What they found though was a grass fire that burned part of a fence and caused smoke damage to a car. They suspected a carelessly thrown cigarette could have caused the fence to go up in flames.
Even though the local fire season is considered over, officials at the scene said less rainfall is still keeping conditions hazardous for fire.
