EUREKA- A Eureka home sustained $30,000 worth of damage after a structure fire early occurred on Friday morning.
Just after 5 a.m., Humboldt Bay Fire responded to a house on the 200 block of Grotto Street for a report of smoke coming from the attic. Crews put out the fire in about 10 minutes. A resident was home at the time, but was able to safely evacuate the house. No one was injured. Fire officials are investigating the cause but say it could have been an electrical fire or caused from flammable materials that were placed next to the furnace.
