Fire officials warn of fireworks safety
Eureka - With New Year’s celebrations happening all over the North Coast, officials warn that fireworks must be safe and sane.
Humboldt Bay Fire is reminding the public there are certain sections of Eureka where fireworks are prohibited; These include: Old Town, North of 4th Street to the bay, West of M Street and East of Commercial. Not only can you not set off or ignite in this area, it is illegal to store or sell them as well. Also, fireworks must bare the California State Fire Marshal’s registration and be listed as “Safe and Sane.” Fire officials will be out over the holiday to enforce the laws for public safety.
