Fire Update: Corral Complex, Salmon River and Butler
Fire crews are hoping to gain better control of the Corral Complex fire that has burned 10,239 and has no containment. Higher humidity and moist winds are expected to flow through the area causing the fire to burn slower. The fire is a quarter mile away from the Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation. A community meeting at VSW Hall in Willow Creek tonight at 6:00PM will update people living around the area on the fire.
The Salmon River fire is close to containment, 95 percent, and has burned 14,377 acres. That fire is burning near the town of Sawyers Bar. An evacuation advisory has been put in place for the communities of Sawyers Bar, Idlewild and Mule Bridge.
The Butler fire burning close to Butler Flat is 35 percent contained and has burned 20,496 acres. State Hwy 93 is now open to the public, with some one way controlled traffic.
