Fire Update: Corral Complex, Salmon River Complex, Orleans Complex
The Corral Complex fire burning near the Hoopa Valley is still going, burning 11,924 acres and is 41 percent contained. Crews expect the fire to move slowly, mostly to the west. Safety of firefighters from dangerous snags and terrain are top priorities. Road closures within the Six Rivers National Forrest are in place.
The Orleans Complex fire is 45 percent contained and has been burned 21,894 acres near the town of Somes Bar. Interior pockets of the fire still continue to burn, but fire officials said they do not threaten the fire line. Crews will work to contain hot spots near Butler Flat.
Fire crews have the Salmon River Complex fire fully contained. The fire has been burning since Aug. 10th and has burned 14,809 acres. The fire is human caused.
