First Eureka 2040 General Plan Update Community Workshop held Tuesday night
EUREKA- The City of Eurkea is in the process of gathering input from the community for the 2040 General Plan Update for land use.
About 50 people, including members of the community and city officials, attended the first of four Community Workshops for the General Plan Update Tuesday night. People had the chance to visit different stations where they could share their thoughts on certain aspects of the city and what they think could be improved. The General Plan Update is a two and a half year process, and the next Community Workshop will be held toward the end of the summer.
"The citizens need to let us know how the city should grow into the future because this is where they live and work. So this is their community so it is important to receive their input so that the city grows and progresses in a manner that is consistent with their vision," said Lisa Shikany, the Principal Planner for the City of Eurkea Community Development Department.
If you would like to give your input but did not attend the Community Workshop, you can still take part in the Virtual Workshop, which lasts until february 24th.
