First step taken in project to beautify south entry to Eureka on Highway 101
EUREKA- The south entry into Eureka could be getting a new look in the coming years.
Tuesday night was the first step of a project to beautify Eureka’s South Entry on Highway 101. At the Eureka City Council meeting on Tuesday night, the council unanimously approved awarding a $60,000 dollar contract to Green Dot Transportation Solutions to fund a study to determine exactly what the project will consist of. The company will work with city and state officials as well as the public to decide on the plans. The goal of the South Entry Project is to entice travelers into visiting Eureka as well as getting northbound traffic to slow down while entering the city. The final report could be finished in May.
