HUMBOLDT COUNTY- Flights out of the Arcata/Eureka airport are booked as people travel outside the area for the holidays. Airport staff said flights were booked all day on the two days before Christmas.
Program Coordinator for the airport, Emily Jacobs, said flights were so booked Monday that they were asking people to give up their seats for later flights.
Jacobs said the airport has been busy over the past two weeks as students have been flighing back home after the end of the semester. "Our student population does a lot of flying during this time," said Jacobs.
Jacobs said it is important that travelers arrive early when the airport is the busiest. "It's always a real bummer when people don't make it on time," said Jacobs.
