Floyd sentenced to state prison for Southern Humboldt gun cache, pursuit
Ryan Floyd has been sentenced to 7 years and 8 months in state prison for charges filed after a pursuit with Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies. The pursuit led to the discovery of a cave full of more than 100 guns on Floyd’s property in Southern Humboldt.
Floyd had entered a guilty plea in early August for the charges against him that include auto evasion, auto theft, possession of methamphetamine and heroin, and possession of stolen property. Investigators say Floyd had more than just the 100 guns; he also had dozens of stolen vehicles and other property at his residence.
Part of the terms of the plea deal reached include that all the stolen property be returned. After being handed his sentence Thursday afternoon in a Humboldt County courtroom, Floyd was remanded into the custody of the sheriff’s office and will be transported to San Quentin State Prison.
