Forest Service Firefighter injured at controlled burn
A U.S. Forest Service firefighter was injured during a controlled burn near Bald Hills Road on Monday.
It happened just after 2:30 Monday afternoon.
According to a forest service official, the burn got out of control and the Plumas National Forest firefighter deployed his safety shelter. The firefighter received burns to his hands and was rescued and airlifted to a Redding hospital.
The incident is under investigation.
