The US Forest Service has lifted the closure order for the Salmon River Complex and Butler Fire Areas.
Authorities say forest visitors are now permitted within the burned area. Officials caution that hazards in the burned area still exist. These include increased potential for falling or downed trees; trail damage and increased potential for mud slides. Careful trip planning is important to have a safe day in the woods. Remember also there are areas that do not have cell phone coverage. The forest service recommends always letting someone know where you are expecting to travel and those conditions in a burned forest change constantly.
