Fortuna children send letters, school supplies to kids in Mexico
FORTUNA- A group of Fortuna children are helping kids thousands of miles away get ready for school.
The MultiGenerational Center held it’s monthly Project Kindness program Wednesday where local kids were able to take part in giving back to children abroad.
The kids were able to drop off school supplies that will go into a care package for students at La Casa de Los Niños school in Mexico. Those supplies will help nearly 80 students this coming school year. The children were also able to write letters to the students to go inside the care package.
“A lot of kids don't write letters anymore, it's email or text and so we are doing written letters and sending them to the children in Mexico and hopefully they'll write back and we can have a pen pal program,” said Sarah Reback, Project Kindness Coordinator.
