FORTUNA- The city of Fortuna is looking to change the time frame in which election campaign signs will be allowed on display. According to the city code it currently limits the time during which political campaign signs may be displayed to 30-days prior to an election, and taken down 10-days after the election day.
Some argue campaigning frequently occurs beyond the 30-day period. The city council is looking to suspend the ordinance and develop sufficient alternatives. The item was on the March 3rd agenda but was tabled because not all the city council members were present. The item will once again be up for discussion at their March 17 meeting on Monday.
