Fortuna man fires shots, arrested for assault with a deadly weapon
FORTUNA- A Fortuna man turned himself in Monday night after allegedly firing several rounds of ammunition into the ground at his home.
Just after 7:30 p.m. 45 year old Cory Thomas Woolley allegedly fired a handgun on the 3100 block of Nelson Lane after being confronted by another man.
According to the victim, he had arrived at Woolley's home to discuss personal matters when Woolley allegedly pulled the gun and fired. The victim was not injured. Officers recovered a .40 caliber handgun.
Woolley is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon and exhibiting a fire arm. He posted $100,000 bail and is out of custody awaiting a court appearance.
