Four arrested after Police close down "squatters house" in Eureka
EUREKA - Four people in Eureka are arrested after the EPD Pop Team closes down a house that had become a squatters residence.
Just after 8:30 Tuesday morning, law enforcement served a search warrant at the 3600 block of California Street. There, they found ten people using the home as a residence. The owner had passed away and no new tenant had leased the property.
Numerous complaints about drug activity and other issues had been called in. Two were arrested for possession of heroin and two for outstanding warrants. Six others were released. For now, the home will be boarded up until controlling parties can take possession.
Pop team officials remind the public to always come forward with their complaints about any drug or illegal activity by calling the Eureka Police Department.
