Garberville man arrested after struggle with Law Enforecement

SOUTHERN HUMBOLDT - A Garberville man is in custody after allegedly resisting arrest and possession of drugs.
 
Arrested was Michael Russell. Around 2 Sunday afternoon, a Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to contact a Russell on Redwood Drive who fled on his bike. Russell was located and he attempted to flee a second time.  A struggle ensued with both deputies sustaining minor cuts and abrasions.
 
Russell was detained and found to be in possession of approximately 19 grams of methamphetamine, 1.1 grams of heroin and drug paraphernalia. He was transported to jail and booked on multiple charges.
 
An acquaintance of Russell, Jacob Worrell was also taken into custody for probation violation.
