Outside plants are at risk during cold weather especially in freezing temperatures. Gardening experts urge gardeners to bring plants indoors during cold weather.
Nursery employ at Miller Farms Nursery, Mary Barber, said if plants can not come inside it is best to cover them with polyester insulation sold at plant stores or use blankets to cover plants to prevent them from dying.
Barber said keeping plants hydrated will prevent them from getting damaged. Bushes and trees are dormant during this time and can prevent them from becoming damaged. The best thing plant owners can do, Barber said, is to know their plants or call their local nursery if they have questions.
