Protesters took to the streets Tuesday in Eureka… to speak out against police brutality. The demonstration was one of many across the nation as part of the 18th annual national day of protest to stop police brutality. Protesters holding signs… made their way down “I” street all the way to Harris. Drivers were forced to go around the protesters… as they were blocking the right hand lane on Harris Avenue heading towards the Eureka Mall. The group is heading back to Carson Park… protesters say they will be holding a concert with live music and be serving dinner. Following that… the group will walk to the park at 14th and “E” street where a candlelight vigil will take place. This is the 18th consecutive year of the national day of protest which started in 1996.
