EUREKA - During the day, the Blue Ox Mill manufactures doors and windows, but during seven nights in the month of October, it is manufacturing fear.
The Hunted Mill Tour opens tonight with 105 volunteers putting together horror vignettes around the property. The tour takes brave souls on a 10-minute tour of the mill.
Organizers say attendees can expect to be “horrified”.
The event is also a fundraiser for several programs that have helped make the mill tour happen.
This is the second year the North Coast Repertory Theater has hosted the event.
Last year, the tour had so many attendees, they had to turn people away. This year they have extended the number of days it is open and tickets can be bought ahead of time.
“It’s a lot of fun. As a theater person, it's incredibly difficult to get those opportunities to really just let go, open up, and use just raw emotion. As human beings, we like to have this raw emotion inspired in us. That's why people like horror films. And so it's a lot of fun for us to come out and do this. And Humboldt County really kind of needs it. At the moment, I believe we are the only major haunted attraction," David Hamilton, Executive Director of the Haunted Mill Tour, said.
