HCSO: Two females assaulted with hunting arrow
From the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office:
On 2-22-2014, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an assault by an arrow that occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m. A deputy met with the 17 year old and 19 year old females, who both reside in Eureka. They told the deputy they were walking near the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Lucas Avenue, Eureka when an arrow struck the sidewalk directly between them, causing the arrow to break. The victims provided the deputy with the arrow, which was a hunting type of arrow. The victims had no idea why or who may have shot the arrow at them. They said there was a grey Nissan Altima driving by about the time the arrow stuck the ground. The Altima had four or five people in it. They did not know whether the arrow came from the vehicle. The victims were not injured.
