FERNDALE- A head-on collision occurred shortly after 4pm on Tuesday in Ferndale. A driver allegedly fell asleep at the wheel on Main Street. Fortuna police said the man, crossed out of his lane and crashed into a parked car. The driver was conscious when police arrived to the scene. He was transported to a local hospital. Two dogs were also in the car and were not injured. Police said the driver of the vehicle was not wearing a seat belt.
