A high-speed pursuit breaks out in Ferndale after police attempt a routine traffic stop…
It happened around noon today. When police tried to pull over this man…54-year-old Cory Wayne Reeves at the corner of Ocean and Wildcat Avenue, police say reeves failed to stop… prompting a short pursuit reaching up to 50 miles per hour on the narrow roads of the Wildcat heading towards Petrolia. Reeves attempted to pass another vehicle, but was unsuccessful due to the narrow curves in the road. Before he was apprehended, police say Reeves tossed a plastic bag out the driver side window. During the investigation, a plastic bag was discovered containing 1-ounce of suspected methamphetamine and over 2-thousand dollars in cash. Reeves was taken into custody and booked into the Humboldt County Jail on five different drug charges and for driving without a license.
