Hospice of Humboldt holds annual remembrance ceremony
EUREKA - Hospice of Humboldt is inviting the public to the Light Up a Life Remembrance Ceremony Wednesday night.
The holidays can be a tough time for people who have lost loved ones and this annual event offers a time for reflection and remembrance.
The ceremony includes a message from the Hospice of Humboldt chaplain, songs from the Arcata Interfaith Gospel Choir, and a candle lighting ceremony.
The event has been going on for 29 years and organizers expect to see about 150 people attend.
“It's a lovely ceremony for people to...those moments where they are most feeling their loss during the ceremony but you see tears of joy as well as tears of sadness. People really like getting the opportunity to acknowledge and remember those people who are important to them,” Barbara Garza, Director of Community Outreach, said.
Should the Humboldt County Correctional Facility provide more re-entry fairs for prisoners?
